I dreamed to explore all the provinces in the Philippines except Cotabato City, why? Because this place is known to be a warzone area, all I heard from the news were bombing and killing!!! Thats the reason that frightened me most to step in any part of Cotabato. But after seeing some TV shows that featured the majestic waterfalls at the northern part of Cotabato named Asik-Asik Falls, the fears slipped away and there was a sudden urged to explore the place.
We were 5 from Davao City including my son and the other 2 were from Pikit, North Cotabato. We used a single motorcycles for this trip, long ride indeed! We departed from Davao City around 2AM and met our friends at Pikit around 5AM then headed immediately to Alamada North Cotabato.... The town of Alamada was strictly a SMOKE-FREE area, we stopped for a while and tried to asked from the locals there the directions going to asik-asik falls. Some locals told us that its better to transfered into habal-habal type of motorcycle because the road going to brgy.Dado was not well-paved it might damage our lowered-type motorcycle but none of us listened, we continued our trip and headed to the place using our own motorcycle.
As we go through along, we crossed some frightening downhills and uphills which took our breath away, some portions were slippery we were almost out of balanced for how many times, and there were also big rocks along the road which is big as our head that made it hell-bumpy rides! I felt muscle pain because we were 3 then in our motorcycle (Raider150) we brought our 6 years old son thats why SAFETY was our first priority. No matter how difficult the road was, my husband tried to controlled it and tried hard not to lost his balanced. All throught out the rides i prayed that we will arrive safely and going back home completely.
It was 7AM when we arrived at the jump off point going to asik-asik falls and we need to do an hour trekking downhill, we were all exhausted, our knees still shaking, almost out of breath, thats why we were all hesitant. But whats the essence of coming if we will not go down? So go go go!!!
The place of Brgy.Dado was mountainous, it was a vast land area, i didn't saw any river nor any source of water... As we go down and get closer and closer, we heard a sound of a flowing water. Where does this water came from? All my questions were being answered when i set my foot near the waterfalls. It flowed from the rocks, how mysterious it was!!! Can you imagined how stunning scenery i saw? Im totally speechless, what welcomed us was a very fascinating water cascades of asik-asik falls.
We enjoyed the breathtaking view of asik-asik falls! The serenity and the calmness of the place energized us...!!! Wooooh!!! The fresh-clear-cold water invited us to soak into the water basin.
What a great escapade although it was a hell like rides, bumpy and scary but it was a heavinly experience to be there!!!
